The problem of knowledge, as Aristotle commented in metaphysics, is inscribed in human nature. We all desire to know and understand our reality, the world and God who transcends it. From ancient times it has been a study that, linked to the mystery and complexity of human existence, has required multiple approaches. Furthermore, modern philosophy has given – we could say excessively – a central place to the problem of what can be known and how it is known. From this (...) centrality, the development of German idealism and even existentialism, phenomenology, scientific positivism and analytical philosophy can be understood as a response to what has been presented with a totalizing character and that has opened new forms of address the problem of man's relationship with reality. We live in a time where culture increasingly denies the truth and the very desire to seek it. Furthermore, we are confused by the diversity of approaches and what is true in the different areas of our existence and being in the world. _Person and Knowledge _acknowledges the importance of asking the questions that exist behind knowledge in its various modalities and aspects. This book is an in-depth discussion between researchers which both enriches the respective visions and moves towards a more comprehensive understanding of human knowledge and its relationship with the human person. In the field of contemporary social neuroscience, the perception of human nature encompasses a broad spectrum ranging from selfishness to innate goodness. From this perspective, the exploration of prosocial behavior is introduced, which is based on understanding how individuals can exhibit altruistic or collaborative behaviors along a continuum that oscillates between self-serving benefits and the innate desire to help others. The interrelationship between prosocial behavior and empathy becomes a key point of study, as both dimensions are intrinsically connected to how (...) individuals interact and relate within society. Understanding how these two facets intertwine allows for a better appreciation of the complexity of human nature and its influence on social dynamics. (shrink)

El presente artículo analiza de manera crítica la justificación moral del uso de animales en experimentación. Para ello, asumimos un enfoque que toma contribuciones desde las éticas del cuidado y de la empatía humano-animal. Se realizará un análisis ético de los argumentos con el fin de evaluar los criterios de razonabilidad detrás de las posiciones que favorecen el uso de animales para el avance tanto del conocimiento científico como de tratamientos biomédicos. En primer lugar, se considerará una definición de experimentación (...) con animales que contempla una breve revisión de sus principales hitos y características. En segundo lugar, se analizará el problema de la consideración moral de los animales en experimentación y las bases para la admisibilidad moral de su uso, así como el cálculo de costo-beneficio para la experimentación biomédica. Finalmente, se plantean enfoques alternativos a la racionalidad instrumental que ofrecen miradas desde las éticas del cuidado y la empatía humano-animal que permiten justificar la transición hacia el reemplazo en el uso de animales. Resumen En el presente artículo se explora la pertenencia de los libros M y N al programa general de la Metafísica de Aristóteles. Los libros XIII y XIV han quedado en el trasfondo de la Metafísica, como una suerte de agregado editorial, del cual se puede prescindir para la comprensión de la propuesta aristotélica. En el presente artículo, sin embargo, se asume un punto de partida diferente, que consiste en integrar estos libros al núcleo de la propuesta de la Metafísica, (...) enten diendo que ellos son claves para completar el panorama de la teoría general de la sustancia, o ousiología, que guía todos los libros metafísicos. De este modo, la discusión de M y N sobre números y principios viene a concluir la cuestión de la sustancia como causa y principio, anunciada desde el inicio de la Metafísica y desarrollada en sus libros centrales.This article explores the belonging of books M and N to the generalprogram of Aristotle's Metaphysics. Books XIII and XIV have remained in the background of Metaphysics, as a kind of editorial aggregate, which can be dispensed with for the understanding of the Aristotelian proposal. In this article, however, a different startingpoint is assumed, which consists in integrating these books into the core of the proposal of Metaphysics, understanding that they are key to completing the panorama of the general theory of substance, or ousiology, which guides all metaphysical books. Thus, the discussion of numbers and principles within M and N concludes the question of substance as cause and principle, announced from the beginning of Metaphysics and developed in its central books. En este trabajo abordo una aproximación ecológica a las bases de la democracia. Entendemos la democracia como un sistema político basado en la cooperación y la igualdad. Analizamos la robusta base evolutiva de las conductas cooperativa y la relación entre la cooperación y las instituciones democráticas. Finalmente sostengo que la democracia como sistema político más específicamente humano es el sistema óptimo para dirigir la gestión de la crisis ecológica.

The estimation of causal effects is fundamental in situations where the underlying system will be subject to active interventions. Part of building a causal inference engine is defining how variables relate to each other, that is, defining the functional relationship between variables entailed by the graph conditional dependencies. In this article, we deviate from the common assumption of linear relationships in causal models by making use of neural autoregressive density estimators and use them to estimate causal effects within Pearl’s do-calculus (...) framework. Using synthetic data, we show that the approach can retrieve causal effects from non-linear systems without explicitly modeling the interactions between the variables and include confidence bands using the non-parametric bootstrap. We also explore scenarios that deviate from the ideal causal effect estimation setting such as poor data support or unobserved confounders. (shrink)

En este trabajo se analizan, por una parte, los datos sobre la presencia de las mujeres en los movimientos de derechos de los animales en el estado español; por otro lado, tratamos de encontrar marcos explicativos que aclaren cuál es el vínculo que conecta la sensibilidad feminista con la sensibilidad animalista. Hemos realizado un sondeo sobre el porcentaje de mujeres entre los miembros de las organizaciones animalistas más importantes de España y, con estos resultados, hemos hecho una revisión de los (...) diferentes marcos teóricos que pueden explicar esta significativa orientación de género en la defensa del bienestar animal. Por último, defendemos que hay un vínculo entre la ideología patriarcal y la explotación ecológica, en tanto que ambos comparten la dominación y la opresión de género. En este sentido, la sensibilidad animalista movilizaría sentimientos morales de fraternidad con la naturaleza. (shrink)

Desde la ruptura con la visión liberal decimonónica del fenómeno nacionalista, los autores emprenden la difícil tarea de reconstruir, aunque sólo programáticamente, el sentimiento nacionalista desde un punto de vista emancipatorio. Este es el único camino posible para enlazar con los nuevos movimientos sociales que, como el texto señala, generalmente rechazan el fenómeno nacionalista. En efecto, existe ya un nuevo nacionalismo, con un fuerte potencial emancipatorio y que está llamado a caminar junto a la idea de Ecología politica. La ruptura (...) con el nacionalismo decimonónico tiene lugar cuando los nuevos nacionalismos aparecen como un acto de disidencia contra el concepto de Estado-Nación. Este concepto cada vez más afectado por su crisis constitutiva y crónica-crisis de la participación política reducida a"democracia virtual", crisis de eficiencia y crisis cultural-, es el objetivo a combatir por parte de los nuevos nacionalismos. Aquí tiene lugar el encuentro con la Ecología política, en la disidencia del progreso, en la búsqueda de caminos de reconstrucción de identidades destruidas por el mercado. Incluso, la Etnopolítica y la Ecología política coinciden en el mismo campo -el de la disidencia, el de las vías alternativas, el de la emancipación-, con los mismos significados -pluralismo, urgencia vital, necesidad-; finalmente, buscan alcanzar objetivos en los que se coincide: seguridad ontológica y reconstrucción conjunta de las formas de vida ecológicas. This paper examines the philosophical implications of organ transplantation through a comparative analysis of Jean-Luc Nancy’s and Francisco Varela’s post-transplantation writings. Drawing on their first-hand accounts as heart and liver transplant recipients, the paper explores how modern biotechnological interventions fundamentally transform our understanding of selfhood. The analysis reveals that post-transplantation life represents an unprecedented form of existence where traditional notions of self-knowledge and lived experience are radically disrupted. Unlike Michael Polanyi’s assertion that “we know more than we can tell,” (...) transplant recipients find themselves “knowing less than they can tell,” where self-understanding becomes mediated through external medical data. The paper argues that post-transplantation existence creates a unique form of solitude characterized by irreproducible, technologically-mediated life conditions that escape shared experiential and meaning frameworks. This transformation suggests a fundamental shift in conceptualizing the relationship between lived experience and scientific knowledge, where self-knowledge yields to the performativity of technological interventions and medical narratives. El texto se aproxima a la renovada hermenéutica jurídica de los inicios del siglo xix alemán, un periodo y un lugar anticodificador, antiiusnaturalista: “historicista” (geschichtlich). Adjetivos de un siglo con un derecho positivo que no crea el legislador, sino que es herencia del pasado, ratio scripta: derecho romano “actual” o heutiges römisches Recht. Entre las estrategias “jurídicas” empleadas en la época para legitimar la vigencia del viejo derecho romano, nos interesa sobre todo una: la interpretación. La hermenéutica jurídica renace a (...) medida que la mentalidad histórica se introduce en el ámbito de las ciencias del espíritu. Pero una aproximación detenida a la idea “pandectística” de la interpretación, apoyada en los textos de los autores de esta corriente, desmiente la visión “conceptualista” que se asocia al periodo de la famosa Begriffsjurisprudenz. En la revisión de esta visión tradicional nos detenemos en el caso de Georg Friedrich Puchta, sucesor del maestro Savigny. El “heutiges” derecho romano, para volverse “actual”, debía ser modificado en aquello que según las necesidades del Volksgeist fuese necesario, y la labor interpretativa del jurista enseña en ocasiones una labor constructiva que no es compatible con el “formalismo” que la historiografía tradicional atribuye a la ciencia del derecho de la Escuela histórica del Derecho. El presente artículo parte de analizar el vínculo existente entre los derechos sociales y la democracia conforme a las funciones que desempeñan tales derechos, adaptándose a la realidad en la que deben ser implementados. Por tanto, el paso de la democracia a una posdemocracia plantea dificultades desde un primer momento al crearse obstáculos para el desenvolvimiento real de los principios que han de regir la operatividad de los derechos sociales. Tal es así que nos debemos plantear si es posible que (...) subsistan en ese contexto. De esta manera, se presentan una serie de observaciones y propuestas para salvar los derechos sociales desde una perspectiva de participación de la ciudadanía y un enfoque de derechos humanos. Finalmente, se concluye que lo importante es que se superen los obstáculos que impidan una justiciabilidad y efectividad adecuadas de los derechos sociales. (shrink)

Forms of Life and Subjectivity: Rethinking Sartre's Philosophy explores the fundamental question of why we act as we do. Informed by an ontological and phenomenological approach, and building mainly, but not exclusively, on the thought of Sartre, Daniel Rueda Garrido considers the concept of a ""form of life"" as a term that bridges the gap between subjective identity and communities.

In this article, I discuss how Fichte treats the idea of the non-state society in several of his works over the course of his philosophical career. In particular, I examine why such an idea is necessary in his ethical system as well as for his theory of the state, and what kind of hope of realisation in the empirical world it admits. Furthermore, I show that the idea of a non-state society, as the final development of human progress, can only (...) be understood as necessary in conjunction with the human drive to achieve moral perfection through actions beyond individuality. The aim of this article is to examine and discuss the hypothesis put forth by Ernesto Laclau in his On Populist Reason (2005) that the identity of a group or community is constructed rhetorically through the act of naming, whereby it universalises a particular demand. Conversely, it will be argued that this process serves to reaffirm a pre-existing identity. The aforementioned identity is constituted by the way in which individuals conceptualise what it means to be human. In this article, I aim to briefly examine the ontological structure of religious life from a phenomenological perspective. By this, I mean how what the subject thinks and does reveals certain principles and patterns of religious life. The first step is to identify the guiding principle. We ask ourselves what the ultimate motivation of the religious human being is. After this, the main thing is to determine how they think of themselves, what image they have of themselves as human beings (...) with regard to the divine. This points to a greater configuration of their consciousness. Next, we look at their habits and the ritualisation of their lives. And finally, the relationship they have with their community. Furthermore, we inquire about the implications of being part of that community. The findings are that religious subjects can only be happy as part of their community if, paradoxically, their desire is to abandon their ego (self-interest and desires) and devote themselves to the glorification of their god. However, although we can use the term “religious” to describe the form of life where subjects maximize the glory of the divine, other historically and sociologically constituted religions are moved by a different ontological principle. The traditional way of understanding life, as a self-appropriating and self-organizing process of not ceasing to exist, of taking care of one's own hunger, is challenged by today's unprecedented proliferation of discourses and techniques concerning the living being. This challenge entails questioning the fundamental concepts of metaphysical thinking--namely, time, finality, and, above all, being. Garrido argues that today we are in a position to repeat Nietzsche's assertion that there is no other representation of "being" than that of "living." But (...) in order to carry out this deconstruction of ontology, we need to find new ways of asking: What is life? Why do we act as we do? Why do we assume that the way of being and behaving in our community is right, good, and common sense? Why do we fail to understand those who are, act, and feel differently? These are some of the questions that this book raises and attempts to answer. This ontology is rooted in the phenomenological tradition but with the innovation of taking the "form of life" as the central ontological unit. We are our form (...) of life, but, as a transcendental-immanent reality, this is not directly equivalent to culture or society; it is rather the "political" realisation in the world of an image of the human being shared by a given community. This overcomes the traditional dualities of individual and society, consciousness and body, facticity and freedom, actuality and possibility. The subject is a subject because it identifies with that image, which is equivalent to the intersubjective consciousness of how one should act and be in the world. This gives rise to multiple forms of life. The latter implies a certain power to be who one wants to be. In this way, the book is an invitation to self-examination, for if our form of life is voluntary (i.e., capitalism), it shatters the illusion that one cannot live in any other way, and places us before the anguished but inevitable task of justifying its adoption or resorting to its abandonment. The book offers a dynamic analysis of human existence as the actualisation of a form of life that is, at the same time, the exercise of a certain power over those who seek to live otherwise, especially when that form is institutionalised by a government as the essence of the national or transnational community. La presente meditación constituye un intento por pensar, desde una situación existencial extraída de la novela de Kafka “El Proceso”, un horizonte fenomenológico, de rescate y salvamento de la posibilidad como eminente modo de ser del existente, a fin de ganar una claridad del problema de la conciencia, a través de los análisis vertidos por Martin Heidegger en su libro “Ser y Tiempo”, en concreto en la Segunda Sección del Tratado. Para ello se analiza el fenómeno de la culpa como (...) promesa para que el existente, llegado el caso, pueda conquistar su propio ser, su sí-mismo. Se concluye acudiendo a la máxima délfica: ¡conócete a ti mismo!, en cuanto representa simbólicamente el camino seguido para determinar el objetivo principal de nuestra meditación: elaborar un horizonte fenomenológico de la mismidad del Dasein. Este libro cuenta la historia de pensamiento filosófico y científico español e hispanoamericano desarrollado a lo largo del recién pasado siglo XX. Su propósito es ser un companion, una guía o compañero, que introduzca y oriente en esta materia de una manera eficaz, atractiva e interesante. La primera de sus cuatro partes se ocupa de la llamada Edad de Plata de la cultura española, que comienza en los últimos años del siglo XIX y termina con el estallido de la Guerra (...) Civil. La segunda abarca el cuarto de siglo comprendido entre el principio de la Guerra Civil y la década de los sesenta, el periodo que corresponde a la dictadura franquista y en el que resulta obligado contemplar separadamente el pensamiento de la España residente en el territorio nacional y en el exilio. La tercera parte se ocupa del estudio de los últimos cuarenta años del siglo XX, cuyas dos primeras décadas, fueron revolucionarias y rupturitas. La cuarta y última parte contiene una historia sintética del pensamiento hispanoamericano del siglo XX, escrita por filósofos hispanoamericanos interesados en comprender la historia intelectual de sus respectivos países. Hemos querido de esta forma renovar la memoria y profundizar en el recuerdo de que buena parte de los herederos culturales de la Edad de Plata española fueron exiliados en esos países para devenir ciudadanos suyos. El artículo presenta los principales estudios de Juan Carlos Rodríguez (1993, 2017), Fredric Jameson (2013, 2015) y Bolívar Echeverría (1996, 1998) que abordan el surgimiento de la modernidad, su impacto en la esfera de la cultura y la subsiguiente constitución de un tipo específico de individualidad. A partir de ciertos conceptos clave, aquellos ofrecen una explicación de las relaciones entre la economía de mercado que empieza a surgir en la transición que va del feudalismo al capitalismo y ciertas disposiciones que (...) aparecen en determinados productos culturales y comienzan a considerar al individuo como un sujeto que se autodetermina libremente, lo que da cuenta del hecho de que la ideología manifiesta un carácter constructivo. Analizando similitudes y diferencias, el texto propone una lectura complementaria de todos ellos argumentando que hacen referencia, de formas originales, a un fenómeno común. (shrink)

Nowadays, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is present in all sectors of the economy. Consequently, both data-the raw material used to build AI systems- and AI have an unprecedented impact on society and there is a need to ensure that they work for its benefit. For this reason, the European Union has put data and trustworthy AI at the center of recent legislative initiatives. An important element in these regulations is transparency, understood as the provision of information to relevant stakeholders to support (...) their understanding of AI systems and data throughout their lifecycle. In recent years, an increasing number of approaches for documenting AI and datasets have emerged, both within academia and the private sector. In this work, we identify the 36 most relevant ones from more than 2200 papers related to trustworthy AI. We assess their relevance from the angle of European regulatory objectives, their coverage of AI technologies and economic sectors, and their suitability to address the specific needs of multiple stakeholders. Finally, we discuss the main documentation gaps found, including the need to better address data innovation practices (e.g. data sharing, data reuse) and large-scale algorithmic systems (e.g. those used in online platforms), and to widen the focus from algorithms and data to AI systems as a whole. A lo largo de este artículo nos proponemos reflexionar acerca de las potencialidades y los recaudos necesarios a la hora de recurrir a los testimonios de los actores en la investigación histórica sobre la izquierda peronista de los años 60 y 70. En particular, nos interrogamos respecto de qué nos aportan estas fuentes sobre el funcionamiento de Montoneros y los límites difusos entre la pertenencia a la organización o los espacios políticos bajo su conducción política. Esta inquietud surge a partir (...) del análisis de entrevistas a exmilitantes montoneros y otros actores políticos que interactuaron con la organización, a través de un enfoque deudor del campo de los estudios sobre memoria. Se observará la aparición de tópicos recurrentes que iluminan dimensiones relevantes para el análisis, la posible triangulación con documentos y prensa, la construcción de memorias comunes o rivales, y la polisemia de significantes cuyos límites se tornan difusos en los testimonios. De ese modo, sostendremos que el uso de estas fuentes, atento a precauciones metodológicas y epistemológicas, permite enriquecer las indagaciones sobre la experiencia de Montoneros. (shrink)

¿Cuál es el origen último de la religiosidad humana? En estas épocas de cientificismo e ilimitado pragmatismo, en estos días en los que Dios parece bien muerto y aún mejor enterrado ¿hay algún motivo sensato y legítimo para reconocer una dimensión religiosa de la existencia? ¿Y qué es lo que distingue una existencia auténticamente religiosa de aquella otra que cree serlo y, sin embargo, no lo es? ¿No son, acaso, el modo de orar y de realizar la propia vida en (...) la esfera ética, social y política lo que permite reconocer esa autenticidad? Estas preguntas fundamentales, tratadas en el contexto de la filosofía dialógica y de la fenomenología, movieron el pensamiento de uno de los filósofos de la religión más profundos de nuestros días: Bernhard Casper. Este libro le rinde homenaje al que durante tantos años dirigió la Cátedra de filosofía de la religión en la Universidad de Friburgo. Le rinde, ante todo, homenaje a la hospitalidad de su pensamiento, retomando aquellos interrogantes que han signado su obra. Based on the fivefold synthesis of Fichte’s Wissenshafstlehere-1804-II, I examine the implicit logical necessity of both world-plan ages and worldviews in two works of the post-Jena period, in which Fichte seeks to explain the history of humanity from an a priori plan (Die Grundzüge des gegenwärtigen Zeitalters) and the history of consciousness in its ascent to a higher worldview (Die Anweisung zum seligen Leben) respectively. The purpose of this text is therefore threefold: 1. To verify the relationship between the fivefold (...) synthesis and the worldviews. 2. To verify the relationship between the fivefold synthesis and the epochs of the world plan. And 3. To verify the relationship between 1 and 2. Of course, there are previous studies that examine both works separately, but none (to my knowledge) that establish a precise correlation between worldviews and world ages; this article fills that gap. In this paper, we bring into conversation the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca (1898–1936) with American pragmatist philosopher John Dewey. We aim to explore how Lorca’s conceptualization of “duende” might provide a complimentary perspective to Dewey’s aesthetic theory as a basis for an aesthetic education oriented towards social rather than merely individual transformation. While both highlight the social nature of aesthetic experience and, with it, its potential for social transformation, Lorca’s “duende” foregrounds ‘feeling’ and the expression of raw emotion over (...) reflectivity and intellectual understanding, which are at the heart of Dewey’s concept of aesthetic experience. As such, we argue, “duende” offers a novel perspective on aesthetic experience as a catalyst for social transformation based on deep empathy and care for other’s suffering and pain in their marginalisation, rather than a primarily intellectual grasp of their lived inequality. Throughout, the paper reflects on the question of how such aesthetic experiences might be cultivated in the context of aesthetic education. (shrink)

Based on the fivefold synthesis of Fichte’s Wissenschafstlehre-1804-II, I examine the implicit logical necessity of both world-plan ages and worldviews in two works of the post-Jena period, in which Fichte seeks to explain the history of humanity from an a priori plan (Die Grundzüge des gegenwärtigen Zeitalters) and the history of consciousness in its ascent to a higher worldview (Die Anweisung zum seligen Leben) respectively. The purpose of this text is therefore threefold: (1) to verify the relationship between the fivefold (...) synthesis and the worldviews; (2) to verify the relationship between the fivefold synthesis and the epochs of the world plan; and (3) to verify the relationship between 1 and 2. Of course, there are previous studies that examine both works separately, but none that establish a precise correlation between worldviews and world ages. This article fills that gap. (shrink)

Consciente de que comprender un texto formalmente y conceptualmente es oscilar entre lo inmediato y lo inaccesible, en un estudio sobre la proyección de Antígona de Sófocles en la cultura occidental G. Steiner sostiene que su significación nos ha llegado desviada. En tal circunstancia, el citado autor asegura que todos los elementos de desafío a la comprensión de Antígona están en el primer verso de la obra (1991:162). En efecto, la inicial exhortación fraterna contiene cinco palabras de las cuales dos, (...) "Oh Ismena", son comprensibles; las restantes son objeto de voluminosas exégesis. Advertidas respecto de la importancia de este verso cuyo elemento nuclear es αủτάδελφον, realizamos un análisis del mismo en función de su repercusión en la obra. Asimismo, observamos el campo léxico referido a la condición fraterna en las restantes obras de Sófocles. Tras constatar la relevancia de tal relación de parentesco en la producción de este trágico ateniense, advertimos que, especialmente en Antígona, la condición fraterna, articuladora de la dialéctica entre el espacio público y privado, está privilegiada más allá de cualquier otra condición humana. Honey bee (Apis mellifera) colonies are “superorganisms”. Individual bees do not display the complete behavioural and ecological range of the species. With its caste structure and division of labour, the colony acts as a functional entity. These social insects are in tight relationship with the environment, which they exploit usually in a symbiotic food-for-pollination exchange. From plants, they draw nourishment for immediate use and to build stores. As a reared animal, A. mellifera has spread far beyond its areas of origin, (...) now living in all inhabited continents. This dispersal made them confront novel stressors, like unsuitable environments and management practices or new pathogens and pests. The severity of these factors extensively obliterated the wild honey bee population in many areas of the world, where the species survives only thanks to domestication. Most of the present scientific knowledge on honey bees is based on managed colonies. This superorganism has high resilience against disturbances, which probably led beekeepers to overlook the colony welfare for long time. Nevertheless, increasing importance is now attributed to honey bee health, also for its economic impact on the honey crop and other productions. Multifaceted is the relationship between honey bees and agriculture. The latter is at the same time a source of food and of hazardous agrochemicals and a factor for the loss in floral biodiversity, which may be detrimental to colony fitness. Nutritional demands of honey bee colonies are a subject of increasing research interest. Global warming is potentially producing a mismatch between honey bee colony development and plant phenology. In addition, it changes the equilibrium with important honey bee pests. This stresses the need of a holistic perspective on the welfare issue. (shrink)

Francisco de Vitoria (1486–1546) was a White Dominican theologian and philosopher from Spain. This chapter is a selection from his Lecture on the Indians (De indis), which he composed in 1538. It examines the morality of the Spanish conquest of Indigenous peoples in America. Like many other texts, it classifies this conquest as a type of enslavement. It also examines whether Aristotle’s theory of natural slavery might justify this enslavement. Vitoria is among the first Europeans to argue that Indigenous (...) people have extensive moral rights and that many alleged justifications for their subjugation fail. Yet he is not as strongly opposed to the Spanish conquest as he may initially seem. While he provides forceful arguments against some justifications—including the theory of natural slavery—he ends up tentatively endorsing a weakened, paternalist version of natural slavery. As a result, this text inspired both defenders and opponents of Indigenous rights. (shrink)

If human action cannot be understood separately from subjectivity, as the phenomenological tradition has shown, with this article I seek to explore the relationship between subjectivity and community, in what can be taken as an intersubjective consciousness constituted by the phenomenological totality of a particular way of being human -an anthropical image-. Thus, if such consciousness is intersubjective, it is precisely because it implies the same way of being and acting in others. This way of being and acting is the (...) expression of a certain power, not only that of persisting in the actualisation of this anthropical image, but also that of incarnating it in progressive degrees of perfection. This power, therefore, although it is to a greater degree in those subjects who incarnate it more perfectly, whom we can call elites, it is also to an essential degree in the other co-subjects. Acting in a certain way implies a meaning and an interest, both of which are particularly vested in the community’s elites. (shrink)

El Ideal krausista expresa un equilibrio interno proporcionado por la dialéctica entre la idea y la realidad. La idea es el principio absoluto, lo más real, en tanto que racional. El ideal es la adaptación de la idea a la realidad según su esencia: la razón. La realidad, como la vida, es para el krausismo no un producto acabado sino en continuo proceso, evolucionando y progresando infinitamente. Este progresar infinito de la vida en tanto que realidad racional, y en última (...) instancia idea real, lo asemeja a la concepción aristotélica del pensamiento, el cual «siempre progresa hacia sí mismo», también la idea efectivamente corporeizada en la vida progresa hacia sí misma, profundizando y dando de sí gradualmente a la esencia humana. Cada cambio experimentado por el ideal, desde estos presupuestos, no es algo cualitativamente distinto del estado anterior, sino un consumar exigencias de la propia humanidad. Es así el ideal como una visagra que facilita la relación dinámica entre ambos planos y permite el paso del deber al ser y la adaptación conspicua del ser al deber. Los distintos aspectos de esta dialéctica lo estudian las disciplinas mayores, a saber, Filosofía, Historia y Filosofía de la Historia. Cada una de estas disciplinas versa sobre una particular relación entre sendos elmentos anunciados. La relación entre la idea y el ideal es la Filosofía. La función de esta es fundamental en el sistema krausista de las ciencias. En tanto que ciencia primera o ciencia de las verdades eternas es la encargada de alcanzar la ley general que une a todas las ciencias y a la realidad toda, organizándolas orgánicamente para su realización y desarrollo.
